Wedding Planning During Covid-19: Advice From Our Team
This is tough, but so are you.
To all the couples out there having their wedding day’s disrupted by Covid-19, we feel for you so much. The Willows Team wants to let you know that we are praying for you and we believe in your strength during this hard time. We also wanted to share some action steps we have compiled for any couple that is changing their day.
Strive for a level-head and employ friends and family members to do the same.
It can be easy to get stuck in a spiral of negative thoughts and frustration. Of course those feelings are valid, but once that time has past, seek peace and positivity.
Date Change Order of Operations
Let’s breakdown the order of conversation when you’re picking a new date, these groups should tell you any weekends in the future that are not available for them.
Your fiance
Your immediate families
Wedding party
Vendors
Have open communication with your venue and vendors.
If a date change is necessary, start with your venue and then move to your main vendors: photography, florist, DJ and catering. Next, move to other vendors that have the capability of multiple weddings a day: cake, rentals, stationary and etc. The wedding world is a tight knit group and wants to do anything to help and love each other well.
Let your guests know the plan.
There are a few ways to do this, we suggest the way that makes the most sense for you and your people, everyone is different! If you feel like calling everyone, go for it! Emailing is an easy and cost-efficient choice as well. It does not need to include the new date, a TBD is just fine, but it communicates to them to look out for a new date. You can also mail out date change cards if the new date was a quick and easy decision. Here’s an example!
Trust the decision and plan an amazing honeymoon as a gift to yourself.
After the changes are all said and done, trust yourselves, take a deep breath and move forward. Again, you are stronger than you know! Plan that honeymoon and think about all the wonderful times you have had as a couple. Use it to strengthen your love for one another.
The Willows Team is cheering on all these Covid-19 couples everyday!! We can get through hard times together!
