Meet Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs

April 12, 2020

Rain is good luck on a wedding day!!
Erika and Cadry had a beautifully-unique big day on a rainy Saturday in Lubbock.

Their Love Story

Erika and Cadry had their first date at Venezia’s in Midland and from that weekend on, Erika was impressed.

“I remember being so nervous at first and just knew I probably came off as so awkward. But sure enough, he continued to talk to me. Even that weekend when he was in Dallas for the Tech vs. Baylor game with his friends which impressed me and made me think, “this one is a keeper”.

On the day Cadry proposed, Erika was ready for a sweet and simple date to Rosa’s, but to her surprise, they went back to their first date spot. After dinner, they ordered dessert and…

“Then I looked down and there was the most beautiful ring sticking out of a macaroon! I looked at Cadry and there he was on his knee asking me to be his wife and that was the easiest question I’ve ever been asked!”

Their Wedding

Erika chose The Willows from Midland Texas and was toured the space originally over FaceTime with her matron of honor! Even a slightly blurred camera couldn’t hide how special the venue is and Erika was sold! They chose a beautiful combination of burgundy and mauve for their colors, grouped with dark and light greens.

The most unique part of their day was Lubbock’s way of changing the weather quick.

“…I especially loved that I would have a option B to move inside if it rained. And of course on my wedding day, it poured! So it was truly a blessing in every way that The Willows was my venue!”

Their Favorite Part of Their Day

Erika had a handful of favorite parts of her special day, one of those being an impromptu first-look with Cadry. Due to the rain changing up the picture schedule, their photographers offered to come early and capture the special moment, some true West Texas hospitality!

“I think during that day, Cadry would have done just about anything I wanted to make me happy, so he agreed with the first look. And we are both SO glad we did!”

Rain or shine, the Willows loves working with couples and seeing the love for each other so clearly throughout their day. Praying joy and blessings over the Gibbs!!
