The “I DO” Do over Wedding | Lubbock, Texas Weddings

July 22, 2019

May 25th, 2012, was a dream come true for Joshua Weldy and Rachel Regan as they began their new life together as Mr. and Mrs. Weldy. Rachel had planned her dream wedding and put a lot of thought into three things specifically: the dress, the cake, and the photographer. The day went off without a hitch and was an absolute fairytale beginning for the couple. However, a few weeks later the couple received upsetting news that most of their wedding pictures had been on a computer that had crashed. Josh and Rachel lost most of their wedding photos to remember their big day.

While the news was devastating, Josh and Rachel were given a free photoshoot from the photographer that they were able to use for maternity pictures a couple of years later in hopes to help make up for the loss of the wedding photos. To this day they still have a very select group of pictures from their wedding that they cherish.

This July, The Willows Event Center was hosting a styled shoot (a photoshoot to showcase a mock wedding), giving Rachel and Josh an opportunity for an “I do” do over. After finalizing details with the florist, photographer, bridal shop, hair salon, videographer, invitation designer, and bakery to put on a mock wedding, The Willows was missing one thing – the perfect couple.

One day, Josh overheard their challenge to find a couple for the photoshoot, then proceeded to casually mention that most of his wedding photos had been lost. Instantly, The Willows knew they had found the perfect couple!

The shoot took place on July 26th and was an absolute dream! This romantic, old-style design brought out the simple elegance of The Willows and emphasized the beauty of our courtyard and garden. There were several scenes setup to help future couples envision their wedding here with us! We were able to get some amazing photos to showcase our facility, while also being able to give Josh and Rachel an opportunity to relive their wedding day and capture more moments to treasure as a bride and groom.

We are so thankful to the vendors who helped us out in this shoot! Check out more of their work on their websites!
